Tough luck dooms Chamberlain at Ultimate Motorsports Park and Florence Speedway
Kicking off a busy Easter weekend, Tristan Chamberlain was one of 43 Mid-East Super Late Models checked in at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) on Friday evening for the Doug Walls Memorial.
During his qualifying lap, Tristan made hard contact with the outside wall and forced him to miss his heat race. Starting at the tail of a B-Main, Chamberlain made up four spots but still fell short of making the $10,000-to-win main event. Tristan participated in the non-qualifiers race where he placed sixth.
Hoping for better luck at Florence Speedway (Walton, Ky.) on Saturday afternoon, Chamberlain started his heat race from the pole before making contact battling for the lead and fading to finish seventh. Starting from deep in the field for the $5,000-to-win main event, Tristan stormed through the pack and was running for a podium spot when another competitor pushed Chamberlain into the wall. Tristan limped his way to an 11th-place finish.
