Flat tire dooms Tristan Chamberlain at Springfield Raceway in March Madness
Friday afternoon saw Tristan Chamberlain rejoin the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series at Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Okla.) for the first event of the doubleheader weekend.
With 40 Late Models packed in the pit area, Chamberlain earned a second-row starting position in the feature after out-running the competition in his heat race. Tristan ran inside the Top-3 for more than half of the 35-lap feature before pulling up limp with mechanical issues. He was scored 25th in the final running order.
Hoping for better luck on Saturday evening at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway, Tristan topped the qualifying charts and once again was victorious in his heat race. Rolling off from the pole position in the $5,000-to-win main event, Chamberlain led the first 27 laps before a flat tire caused him to slip off the track. Tristan was able to crawl his way to a 15th-place finish.
